We have just completed negotiations with Jethro's Marinades to bring you a full range of handmade marinades, sauces, dressings and glazes, all made from 100% natural ingredients. At the time of writing we are awaiting photographs, but the full Jethro's range is available on our ShopS site — the only web-shop where you can purchase Jethro's products online — and accompanying most of the items there is even a recipe suggestion.
We also have a special new product from one of our existing suppliers.
This year is the 50th Anniversary of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and the Breconshire Brewery is brewing a special beer in commemoration of this outstanding anniversary: Golden Bannau — a strictly limited edition to their bottled ales — is a 5.0% Brown Ale, based on a recipe as old as the Park itself!
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the staff, volunteers and supporters of the Brecon Beacons National Park on this momentous occasion.
If you have never visited the Brecon Beacons, it is an experience not to be missed. A beautiful area of the country full of some of the most extraordinary scenery you will see anywhere. From the majestic ruined splendour of one of our favourite castles, Carreg Cennen, to the lovely walks through the hills and valleys, some very challenging and some just gentle strolls.
You can visit too the museum of the No.1 company the 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot, later to become The South Wales Borderers, who fought at Rorkes Drift in South Africa in 1879, immortalised in the film Zulu staring Michael Caine. The museum is situated in Brecon itself in the heart of the National Park.
Or you can visit The Skirrid Mountain Inn, the oldest Inn in Wales whose first written mention appears just fifty years after the Norman Conquests! You can dine there on some exceptional, home cooked foods, and stay the night too as a bed and breakfast guest, but beware, it is said that ghosts still roam the halls and rooms. A stay not for the feint hearted!
Contact the Welsh Tourist Board at Visit Wales for more things to do and see in the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains.
In the mean time you can enjoy a taste of Wales in the comfort of your own home from our selection of Breconshire Brewery real ales, Bara Brith and Welsh Cakes, plus chutneys, jellies and preserves from Cegin Pennant, our very first supplier.
